What is acupuncture
Acupuncture
has been used in China for
more than 2,500 years and is
a branch of Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM),which
involves the insertion of
very fine needles into
specific points on the body
to re-balance the flow of
the body's energy. Energy is
called Qi (pronounced Chi)
in TCM and it flows through
pathways called meridians or
channels. Qi should flow in
a free, unobstructed manner
around the body, much like
your blood should move and
if it does not, if there is
a blockage, then illness may
result.

Our bodies are very much
like machines in the way
that they function and
therefore can adapt to high
levels of stress and poor
conditions quite
effectively...but only for
so long, and health problems
can result when the warnings
are ignored.
Acupuncture
will work to restore balance
within your body and in
doing so will help towards
restoring you to optimum
health.
Acupuncture can help you
with losing weight. Fine
needles are inserted into
the relevant acu-points,
helping adjust your Yin and
Yang balance and improving
your Qi circulation.
Acupuncture helps your body
to function in a more
balanced way to help shed
off unnecessary fat and
regains more energy
What will
happen during my treatment?
Your acupuncturist will take
time to discover the
background to your problem
and then by stimulating
needles in certain ways will
help to restore a more
balanced flow of Qi within
your body and promote a
healthy environment.
Acupuncture should not be a
painful treatment. Often
people are surprised when
they realise the needles
have been put in. They are
usually left for about 20
minutes during which time
the patient has time to
relax. Follow up treatments
will depend on the
particular case history.
Can
Acupuncture help me?
Acupuncture has been
successful in helping with
numerous problems, such as
stress, chronic pain,
hormonal disturbances,
eczema, migraines, digestive
complaints and many more.
However acupuncture is not
only a therapy to address
specific illnesses but is
also great as a preventative
measure to help fight
against future problems and
also as a therapy to just
give you that little boost
back to optimum health!
