With the years of
experience of
working within a
multi-disciplinary
team her holistic
approach in
assessing
individuals, in
order to make them
realise why their
body is hurting and
therefore help them
to move more freely,
has further
developed.
Josie achieves
amazing results with
each person both
elite athletes and
people from all
walks of life. Her
focus is not to
simply treat the
symptoms, but to
identify the cause
of the problem and
then aim to restore
function in a
realistic way, that
has meaning for
every individual and
where appropriate
refer on for
specialist/alternative
advice and
intervention.
Her aim is to
EDUCATE, MOTIVATE
and REHABILITATE
every individual
back to optimum
levels of function
through the use of
proper assessment,
deep tissue massage,
myofascial release,
manual therapy,
rehabilitation
exercises,
stretching
techniques and gait
analysis. She aims
to integrate dry
needling techniques
in her treatment and
also real time
ultrasound in
determining whether
the deep muscles in
the trunk are
working.
What to expect on
your first visit:
A comprehensive
history will be
taken from you and
then usually a head
to toe assessment
will be done
depending on what
your problem is.
Sometimes it is
necessary to perform
a gait analysis.
A diagnosis is then
given alongside a
treatment plan so
that you are well
aware of how you
will progress.
What to wear;
As it is usually
essential to be able
to see the body in
order to provide a
comprehensive
assessment, it is
recommended that you
wear shorts unless
you are comfortable
in your underwear.
What to bring;
Any x-rays or MRI’s
or test results that
is appropriate for
your injury should
be brought with you.
You should also
bring your trainers
if appropriate and
also a pair of your
favourite shoes that
are worn in so that
your gait patterns
can be analysed.
